Best Friends? Is a short film written and directed by Mark Hartnett. The film tells the story of a couple in the midst of a divorce and the unexpected custody battle that takes place between them. I worked as Producer on this production. I auditioned and found actors, as well as organizing the shooting days and locations. I also had to create call lists and make sure each crew and cast member knew what they had to do on the day and when they had to do it. I am very proud of my work on this production especially in dealing with the amount of organisation that was needed from organizing the crew, locations and actors, even managing to get a well trained acting dog for the film.
A short film I worked on in my third year of college. This was the first time I shot a scripted drama with actors we had to find and audition from outside the college. I worked as a Production Assistant and as Graphic and Title Designer on this production. On the shot I also helped set up sound and camera equipment for each shot as well as taking down edit notes of what each shot consisted of and what shots were good, for the editor to use later on. In the post production phase I helped create the opening title sequence as well as helping film pick up shots and sounds to use in the editing.
A fourth year production I was involved in where I worked as Sound Operator. The drama tells the story of a couple attempting to move on after the death of their baby and the journey they go dealing with grief. I really enjoyed working on this production and really felt that I gained great experience in recording high quality sound in a number of locations, indoors and outdoors using a Zoom H6 recorder and that high quality sound really adds to the emotion of the finished production
